Off-Road Centre Terms and Conditions
Bookings and payments
All bookings are to be made via www.davethorpehonda.com and are on a first-come first-served basis. Telephone bookings will incur a £10.00 surcharge.
Payments are to be made via Stripe. Customer payments will be taken by Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road Centre (D & G Events Limited). Deposit and balance amounts, payment schedules and payment deadlines are as stated in the information for each experience.
Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road Centre will send out an email confirmation with directions, event itinerary and other useful further information once the booking and payment process is complete. Making a booking confirms that the customer has read and understood our terms and conditions.
All required Information Forms and Risk Recognition Declarations must be completed and returned no later than 21 days before the experience date.
For group bookings, the lead booker is responsible for sharing the relevant Information Forms and Risk Recognition Declarations with every participant in time for them to complete and return the required documents no later than 21 days before the experience date.
Cancellation of booking by the customer
All requests for cancellations must be in writing and sent by either post or email. Upon receipt either of a letter or email requesting cancellation, Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road Centre will acknowledge said cancellation within 5 days. Until the customer has received this confirmation the original booking remains valid.
The customer will be charged on the following basis:
E-Gift vouchers are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by law.
All deposits are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by law.
Up to and including 30 days prior to the event start date – the full experience fee is not refundable. Requests to transfer a booking are subject to the conditions in the transfer section below.
During the course, if a customer is unable to continue with training, for whatever reason, no refund of the course cost will be given.
Transfer of the booking by the customer
Requests for changes to bookings must be made in writing and sent by email. On receipt of email requesting a change, Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road Centre will acknowledge any changes within 5 days. Until the customer has received this confirmation the original booking remains valid. Changes are at the organiserʼs discretion and while every effort will be made to accommodate them, we cannot guarantee to make these changes. Requests will only be considered if made 15 or more days prior to the course start date and will incur a fee.
Customers may only transfer a course date once, and it must be redeemed within 12 months of the original course date. Customers transferring a course date will be liable for any increases in course cost. Courses are extremely popular and are often booked up in advance. The company cannot be held responsible for the availability of courses should customers wish to transfer dates.
Transfer of booking by the customer will be charged on the following basis: 15 or more days prior to the event start date – 20% administration/overheads fee.
No changes can be made within 14 days of the experience date, including when exactly 14 days remain. This includes changes to the experience date or participants. Any cancellation remains subject to the cancellation terms above.
Cancellation of course by Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road
Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road Centre reserves the right to postpone a course due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases the customers booked on this course will be offered an alternative course. The company will notify the customer by phone, or via email, with as much notice as possible once aware of reason to postpone.
Insurance
Please note, neither Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road Centre or Honda U.K. provide personal accident cover for participants and as with any other potentially dangerous pastime you may wish to consider purchasing your own personal accident cover before attending the course. Insurance of the bikes can be covered by taking out our £30 Honda Damage Waiver. This is a payment that can be paid on the morning of your event or prior to your event taking place. Our £30 damage waiver will exempt you of any damages caused to the bike(s) whilst riding on your event. This is optional.
Safety Regulations
Customers accept that riding a motorcycle is a dangerous activity. Off-road motorcycle activities take place in varied natural environments where there are hazards and risks to manage. Every effort will be made by the Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road Centre team to provide training in a safe manner. Customers participating on our courses are expected to comply with all safety guidance and instructions given by Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road Centre staff. All Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road Centre instructors are experienced instructors. These instructors may differ from event to event. However, the guidelines of instruction and event itinerary will remain the same.
If, in an instructor’s opinion, it is unsafe for a customer to continue on their current course, Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road Centre reserves the right to move that customer to a different training group or bike appropriate to that customers’ ability level. In the event of such a decision, Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road Centre will not reimburse fees. Customers must be physically fit to take part on a Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road Centre course.
Code of Conduct
Your safety and enjoyment are our prime concerns while taking part in Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road Centre course. The customer has a responsibility to mitigate the risks incurred. This means that you should wear all required safety equipment at all times. We provide customers with full protective clothing and safety riding kit to wear. Alternatively, you can use all of your own riding kit however your helmet must be ECE 22.06 or equivalent and in good condition and your boots and gloves must be suitable for off-road use. We ask that you respect yourself, other participants and staff on the course. The company reserves the right to withdraw customers from the event who exhibit disruptive or dangerous behaviour that risks their own safety or the safety or enjoyment of other customers and/or staff. Any damage caused to property or equipment as a result of unruly behaviour will be charged to the customer.
General
- Customers must be 16 years of age or above.
- Enduro Trail Day; As the day’s riding is all off-road a motorcycle licence is not required.
- All bookings are on the basis that the customer will, at all times, observe the safety regulations set by Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road Centre.
- Customers booking a course agree to fully comply with Dave Thorpe Honda Off-Road Centre’s Safety Regulations, Code of Conduct and any other instructions given by the staff. Failure to observe these rules may lead to exclusion from the course or event. Customers so excluded will not receive a refund.
- Motocross Day only; customers who wish to use their own bikes must ensure that they are safe to use prior to joining the event and have the suitable riding kit to accompany this. If not deemed suitable to ride by our instructors, no refund will be issued for the event. However, an upgrade to use our bikes on the day of the event may be offered at a cost of £75 – subject to availability.
