There’s nothing that can hold back the CRF1000L Africa Twin, or you for that matter. Take it through town, escape for a weekend ride or a touring holiday – with a bit off off-road thrown in of course. Whichever you choose, this motorcycle is equipped to take you anywhere. How far you want you go, is entirely up to you.
To meet new off-road challenges, we’ve worked through the Africa Twin’s liquid-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine.
It’s 1.3 Kg lighter while increased cubic capacity to 1100 cc boosts mid-range torque – with an extra 5 Nm peak torque for linear, relentless drive – and brings with it an extra 5 kW peak power. Revised PGM-FI throttle bodies and ECU feed the new cylinder head and revised valve timing; a competition-style exhaust – complete with Exhaust Control Valve (ECV) breathes freely with an urgent, highly-tuned, high-rpm crackle

The new Africa Twin stays true to its Paris-Dakar heritage – equipped with only the most refined technology developed since its debut.
It has Throttle By Wire that comes with 3 ride modes and on DCT models, there’s an additional G mode for going off road – plus a host of other innovative, new engine components to take you further than you’ve ever gone before. The mighty CRF1000L is ready when you are.
Alongside the injection of extra power we completely redesigned the Africa Twin’s chassis and added advanced technology to keep the rider on top.
A lighter main frame, stiffer aluminium CRF450R-style swingarm and bolt-on aluminium rear subframe are matched to adjustable, long-travel USD Showa front forks and rear shock.
The riding position, too is tailored for sitting and standing with high-set handlebars and contoured, narrower seat profile. Taut rally-style bodywork is slim – perfect for easy movement around the machine and seeing the trail ahead – with compact front fairing and screen.

The new CRF250R’s electric start DOHC engine maintains its top-end power hit but features a major boost at the bottom-end. HRC Launch Control helps nail the start every time, while the 3-Mode EMSB (Engine Mode Select Button) puts you in charge of the power delivery.
A new front brake calliper improves stopping power and feel, and Renthal Fatbars are now fitted as standard with 4-way adjustable mounting, to suit rider preference.
